Prof. David R. Beatty

Advisory Board Member

Professor David Beatty is Conway Director of Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and Chair of the Clarkson Centre for Business Ethics and Board Effectiveness. Currently, he serves as a Director of First Service Corporation, Walter Energy and Canada Steamships Lines. 

Prof. Beatty is the founding Managing Director of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance where he served between 2003 and 2008. Beatty also served on Peter Drucker's Foundation Board in the United States for over a decade, the last few years as Vice Chairman and was Chair of Upper Canada College from 1992-97. Throughout his career, Professor Beatty has served on over 35 Boards of directors and been Chair of 8 publicly traded companies.

He holds a BA in Political Science and Economics degree from Trinity College, Toronto and MA in Economics from Queens College, Cambridge. In 1994, he received the Officer of the most Excellent Order of the British Empire. In 2005, he received a fellowship from the Institute of Corporate Directors in Canada.

Prof. Beatty is the Honorary Consul General for Papua New Guinea in Canada and Past Director of the Art Gallery of Ontario and The George R. Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Arts.
