Communications and Fundraising Officer

Having been actively involved in professional life since her student years, Astam has built a strong career in the field of communications by combining her academic background with hands-on experience. While continuing her doctoral studies, she took part in various projects and social responsibility initiatives and volunteered within the Initiative Project. As a member of the Argüden Governance Academy Youth Network, she participated in educational activities at Darüşşafaka within the scope of the “Learning Child: Responsible Individual” program. She currently continues to contribute voluntarily to the activities of the Turkish Muscular Diseases Association.

Astam graduated from the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Communication, Selçuk University. She strengthened her graduate education through academic studies conducted at Istanbul University under the Farabi Exchange Program. She completed her doctoral studies at Anadolu University, Department of Press and Broadcasting, as a recipient of the YÖK 100/2000 Communication Studies Scholarship.

Her research interests include communication studies, journalism, women's studies, social media, climate change, digital activism, and sustainability. She has published articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals, presented papers at scientific conferences, and contributed book chapters in these fields.

She is responsible for managing the communication activities and fundraising processes within our organization. She has professional experience in communication strategy development, media relations, social media management, media planning, crisis communication, and the implementation of social responsibility projects. By managing end-to-end corporate communication processes at institutions such as the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) and UTIKAD, she has contributed to strengthening corporate reputation. She has also played an active role in content production, agency and media coordination, and reporting processes within multi-stakeholder environments.
