A total of 56 participants attended the session, where the updated ELoGE framework, revised by the Council of Europe at the end of 2024, was introduced. The self-assessment tool consisting of 12 principles of good governance and 72 indicators was presented in detail. The session also highlighted the steps municipalities need to follow during the application process, the key aspects to consider in implementation, and the benefits of the Label for local administrations.
The presentation was delivered by our Academic Board Members Dr. İnan İzci and Dr. Erkin Erimez, accompanied in Ankara by the Academy’s Secretary General Alp Yörük.
During the session, it was emphasized that the European Label of Governance Excellence is not only an assessment tool but also a means to strengthen citizens’ trust and to promote a governance culture that enhances transparency, accountability, and participation. Participants had the opportunity to raise questions and share experiences regarding the implementation of governance excellence in their municipalities.
The program concluded with a Q&A session. The strong interest of the participants underlined the growing awareness of governance excellence in local administrations and the increasing need for capacity building in this field.
