Kadıköy Municipality became the first municipality in the world to carry out an "Integrated Reporting" study that measures how well the planned services are fulfilled and the correct use of public resources.

Kadıköy Mayor Aykurt Nuhoğlu, who spoke at the meeting where the results of the Integrated Report were shared, explained the 5-year service period in Kadıköy. CHP Istanbul Deputy İbrahim Kaboğlu, CHP Kadıköy Mayor Candidate Şerdil Dara Odabaşı, CHP Kadıköy District President Ali Narin, Argüden Governance Academy Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Yılmaz Argüden, journalists, council members and municipal employees attended. Evaluating the results of the Integrated Report, Nuhoğlu said, “Kadıköy Municipality became the first municipality in the world to put into practice the 'Integrated Report' application, which measures the correct use of public resources. I believe that this practice will set an example for other public institutions.”
Integrated Report: Kadıköy Municipality Created Value for Citizens
The Integrated Report, prepared with the support of Argüden Governance Academy, focused on the idea that the main purpose of municipalities is to improve the quality of life of people. The population of Kadıköy was examined in detail, the population was divided into clusters with common denominators. In the report, Kadıköy Municipality's previous plans, efforts to implement the plans, and the values created as a result of the studies were evaluated according to the Sustainable Development Goals with the OECD's international good life measurement method. The report revealed that Kadıköy Municipality creates value for citizens in areas such as healthy life, cultural, artistic, individual and social development, participation in decision-making processes, and development of working opportunities. Argüden Governance Academy Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Argüden said, “It is a good example of global thinking in our country that the first municipal application of Integrated Reporting, which we brought to the agenda as a B20 Information Partner during Türkiye's G20 Presidency, came out of Türkiye.” said.
The report also reflects the expectations of those living in Kadıköy that will add value to their quality of life beyond basic municipal services. Accordingly, those living within the borders of Kadıköy primarily want to be provided with services in areas such as culture, art, education, innovative working and business environments, social assistance, and to participate in the decision-making and idea development processes regarding their own living spaces.
The report also includes data on the resource structure of Kadıköy Municipality. In the report, which emphasized that Kadıköy Municipality has an effective and strong resource management approach, it was stated that the municipality's activities were carried out without borrowing, although it made a lot of investments and had a wide range of services.
