1st Day of MARUF 2021:
On the first day of the MARUF 2021 event organized by the Marmara Municipalities Union, the panel moderated by our Academic Board Member Dr. Erkin Erimez was attended by our Academic Board Member Dr. İnan İzci, TÜRKONFED Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Betül Çelikkaleli, İstanbul Policy Center Urbanization and Local Government Studies Coordinator Ayşe Köse Badur, UNDP İstanbul International Private Sector and Development Center Deputy Director Dr. Gülçin Salıngan, TÜSİAD Expert Cansu Üttü and, Marmara Municipalities Union Sustainable Development Goals Ambassador Özge Sivrikaya attended. In this session, which lasted for 1 hour and 30 minutes, it was discussed that strategies and studies should be carried out based on good governance-based public and private sector harmony, cooperation, and coordination in order to strengthen sustainable development in cities. 108 people attended the event held on October 1, 2021.
2nd Day of MARUF 2021:
On the second day of the event, the panel moderated by our Academic Board Member Dr. Erkin Erimez was attended by our Academic Board Member Dr. İnan İzci, Kadıköy Municipality Strategy Development Manager Can Nurkan Akbal, Şişli Municipality Consultant Gönen Orhan, Sultanbeyli Municipality Strategy Development Manager Mehmet Aktaş, Nilüfer City Council Secretary-General Emre Karagöz, Council of Europe Good Governance Expertise Center Project Coordinator Niall Sheerin and Marmara Municipalities Union Secretary-General Dr. Cemil Arslan participated. The implementation of the Council of Europe's 12 principles of good governance requires the development and implementation of an integrated approach. The development of integrated good governance at the local level is based on practices in different fields. In this session, various applications that will serve as examples of the integrated approach were discussed. 78 people attended this session, which was held on October 2, 2021 within the scope of MARUF 2021.
3rd of MARUF 2021:
On the third day of the event, in the panel moderated our Academic Board Member Dr. İnan İzci, our Academic Board Member Dr. Erkin Erimez, LSE Cities Research Assistant Nuno da Cruz, Ainara Fernandez Torosa from United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) Local Democracy and Local Government Global Observatory, Marmara Education and Organization Business Development Manager Büşra İnce attended. In this panel, which lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes, the issue of risk governance and strengthening good governance in making cities and local governments resistant to risks were discussed. 43 people attended this panel held on October 3, 2021.
